CSTO postponed exercises to be held in Kazakhstan on August 26

The postponed exercises of the Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CRRF CSTO) will begin on August 26, the agency reports citing newspaper Kommersant.

Almaty. August 21. Kazakhstan Today - The postponed exercises of the Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CRRF CSTO) will begin on August 26, the agency reports citing newspaper Kommersant.

"The agreement on CRRF creation was signed by the Presidents of the CSTO member countries in June. Therefore, the responsible structures of the organization did not have time to prepare the plan of the exercises by August 19," a source in the CSTO Secretariat explained.

The exercises will begin on August 26 and Interaction-2009 will be the final stage of the joint complex exercises. "The representatives of power structures and staff officers will gather next Wednesday in the CSTO Joint Staff. They will acquaint with the political situation. It will also mean the beginning of the exercises of seven countries of the block," the source informed.
