CSTO Secretary General, EU Special Representative discussed measures of stability in CA region

The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha, and the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Pierre Morel, discussed the measures for maintenance of stability in the Central Asian region in Moscow on Tuesday, the agency reports with reference to the press service of CSTO Secretariat.

Moscow. December 3. Kazakhstan Today - The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha, and the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Pierre Morel, discussed the measures for maintenance of stability in the Central Asian region in Moscow on Tuesday, the agency reports with reference to the press service of CSTO Secretariat.

According to the press service, during the meeting the parties discussed the measures undertaken by the CSTO and the EU to maintain stability in the Central Asian region. Both parties have noted the tendency of worsening of the situation in the Central Asian region caused, first of all, by the problems in Afghanistan and the world economic crisis.

During the meeting the participants reached the agreements on coordination of the efforts of the CSTO and the EU, on the joint actions, including on suppression of Afghanistan drug trafficking, activization of the joint actions on suppression of trafficking in persons, and other directions.
