CSTO to consider expansion of military-economic cooperation

Astana. March 13. Kazakhstan Today - During the third session of the Interstate commission on military-economic cooperation of the countries - participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) the package of the documents directed at expansion of military-economic cooperation will be considered. The assistant to the Secretary General of CSTO Valery Semerikov said today before the beginning of the session of the commission, the agency reports.

Draft agreements on cooperation in the field of development, operation, modernization of military products, interstate normative act on protection of the rights to the products of intellectual activity received during military-economic cooperation and regulations on provision of CSTO member states with technical legal documents of the Russian Federation.

"The documents will be presented to the Presidents of CSTO member states at the summer session of the council of collective security," the deputy Secretary General explained. The session will be held in June, 2007 in Moscow.

As it was informed earlier, CSTО was created to realize the resolution of the Council of collective safety dated June 23, 2005. Created by the decision of the governments of the member states of the organization the national parts of the commission (from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) are headed by ministers and vice ministers supervising defensive industries in the countries.
