Development of Trans-Asian and Euro-Asian transport corridors in Central Asia to be discussed in Dushanbe at OSCE regional conference

According to the OSCE Center in Dushanbe, the high-ranking officials responsible for transport sphere from Central Asia and from Southern Caucasus, from Afghanistan, Japan and Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Turkey and other OSCE member states will discuss the problems of transport corridors that the landlocked regions face.

"It is expected that conference of top-level will help strengthening of political cooperation concerning transit through the region," the OSCE Center said. It will also bring contribution to the regional intermediate review of the Almaty program of actions of 2003, which is called to react to the special needs of the developing landlocked countries."

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Hamrokhon Zarifi, the chairperson of the OSCE Center in Almaty, the ambassador Ivar Vikki, the Secretary General of the Interstate commission TRASECA (transport corridor Europe - Caucasus - Asia) Rustan Djenalinov, vice assistant to the Secretary General of the Eurasian economic community Serik Primbetov, as well as the international experts from the United Nations Organization, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, the Islamic Bank of Development and the World Customs Organization will take part in the event.
