Diplomats of Kazakhstan and Lithuania exempted from visa requirements

Diplomats of Kazakhstan and Lithuania have been exempted from the visa requirements. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, informed at the briefing, following the results of the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Vigaudas Ushatskas, on Monday, the agency reports.

Astana. June 9. Kazakhstan Today - Diplomats of Kazakhstan and Lithuania have been exempted from the visa requirements. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, informed at the briefing, following the results of the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Vigaudas Ushatskas, on Monday, the agency reports.

"We discussed cooperation of Kazakhstan and the European Union. Lithuania, as an active member of the European Union, is important for us not only in the bilateral, but also in the multilateral relations. We positively estimate the intergovernmental agreement signed today on exemption of owners of diplomatic passports from the visa requirements," M. Tazhin informed.

"We signed such agreement with a number of the EU countries regarding both diplomatic and official passports. It is the first step towards gradual introduction of the visa free regime for all categories of citizens, including tourists, students, and businessmen," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan added.
