EEU member states intend to create Eurasian jewelery brand

It is planned to open a Eurasian jewelery bureau (Eurasian jewelery) that will include representatives of the EEU member states.
The Eurasian Economic Commission will hold discussions over the draft Roadmap of the creation of a Eurasian jewelery brand with market participants and government authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union, and after which the EEC Collegium will approve the Roadmap. Chairman of the EEC Collegium Tigran Sargsyan told, website of the Eurasian Economic Commission reports.

An initiative to create a Eurasian jewelery brand was presented by the Eurasian Economic Commission during the Eurasian Week International Forum, which was backed by business, and announced readiness to actively work out it. It is supposed that a cooperative project in the jewelery sphere will be implemented on principles of public-private partnership - it is planned to establish a Eurasian jewelery bureau (Eurasian jewelery) that will include representatives of this sector of the EEU member states.

Manufacturing of jewelery items is one of the directions with a potential for cooperation and promotion of Eurasian products in external markets. Work on the creation of a Eurasian jewelery brand has begun, and the Eurasian Economic Commission has already designed a draft Roadmap that will be approved once it has agreed with representatives of business and government agencies," said Tigran Sargsyan.


The creation of a Eurasian jewelery brand implies unified standards of quality, infrastructure to distribute and promote the brand. The project will enable to increase the volume of exports of jewelery items by 8 times - up to US $1 350 million.

On September 14, 2018, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission instructed the Collegium of the Commission with government authorities of the EEU member states and participants of the jewelery markets to elaborate the creation of a Eurasian jewelery brand for export in order to realize the potential of the jewelery sector of the EEU.
