EurAsEC Interstate Council session held in Minsk

The session of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) at the level of leaders of states was held in Minsk on Friday, the agency reports citing news agency BELTA.

Almaty. November 30. Kazakhstan Today - The session of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) at the level of leaders of states was held in Minsk on Friday, the agency reports citing news agency BELTA.

According to the plan of actions on formation of the EurAsEC Customs Union, the leaders of states plan to confirm uniform custom duties of the Customs Union, which will be introduced from January 1, 2010. The heads of states plan to accept the Customs Code contract of the Customs Union that will come into force from July 1, 2010.

The agenda of the session included 11 questions concerning realization of the decisions accepted by the EurAsEC Interstate Council at the 21st session on October 10, 2008 and the meeting on February 4, 2009, formation of the Customs Union and EurAsEC uniform economic space. The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, opened the session.

Also, the session participants considered realization of joint efforts on overcoming of the consequences of the world financial crisis in the EurAsEC member states, the course of implementation of the plan of measures on realization of the EurAsEC international activity concept for 2008-2010.
