Euro Parliament deputy Struan Stevenson visits Kazakhstan

The visit of Euro Parliament deputy, Struan Stevenson, to Kazakhstan with objective of rendering charitable help to victims of nuclear tests in Semipalatinsk test nuclear range began on Monday. The press secretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ilyas Omarov, informed during Monday's weekly briefing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - The visit of Euro Parliament deputy, Struan Stevenson, to Kazakhstan with objective of rendering charitable help to victims of nuclear tests in Semipalatinsk test nuclear range began on Monday. The press secretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ilyas Omarov, informed during Monday's weekly briefing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"The questions of rehabilitation of Semipalatinsk region were discussed at Euro Parliament session," I. Omarov said. S. Stevenson was the organizer of photo-exhibition Eternal Grief in Europe and the presentation of Semipalatinsk region in the US Congress, Great Britain, Ireland, and Norway.

"A British businessman and Hollywood actress, Kimberley Joseph, will accompany Euro Parliament deputy on his trip," I. Omarov emphasized. During the visit K. Joseph plans to shoot a documentary film on Semipalatinsk test nuclear range in order to attract wide international public to the problem of this region.

S. Stevenson's visit will last till July 26.
