Foreign Minister met US deputy assistant state secretary

Astana. August 28. Kazakhstan Today - Today the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kasymzhomart Tokayev received the US deputy assistant secretary of state for South and Central Asian affairs Evan A. Feigenbaum. Kazakh MFA press service informed the agency.

According to the press-service, during the meeting the detailed exchange of opinions on further development of bilateral political, trade and economic cooperation took place. The parties also discussed the prospects of Kazakhstan presidency in OSCE and the course of preparation for the visit of the President of the USA in September, 2006.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Leader of Kazakhstan foreign policy department received special envoy of the President of Venezuela, the Ambassador of Venezuela to Iran Arturo Anibal Gallegos Ramirez. During the meeting the parties discussed prospects of cooperation between two countries in various areas. In his turn, A. Gallegos delivered personal message of the President of Venezuela Ugo Chaves, addressed to Kazakhstan President, in which he expressed the request to support the nominee of the country in non-permanent membership of the Security Council of the United Nations for 2007-2009.
