Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and India discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin and the state Minister for Foreign Affairs of India E. Ahamed discussed prospects of development of bilateral cooperation, the agency reports.

Astana. April 8. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin and the state Minister for Foreign Affairs of India E. Ahamed discussed prospects of development of bilateral cooperation, the agency reports.

"We discussed questions of mutual relations, noted the necessity of expansion of cooperation in such directions as oil-and-gas, textile industry, and education," Foreign Minister of India said in the interview, following the results of the meeting.

"I think we have good prospects of mutual relations. The visit of Kazakhstan President to India in November of 2008 will attach new impulse to our cooperation," he emphasized.

According to official data, volume of commodity turnover between two countries in 2007 made nearly $200 million. Total amount of the Indian investments into the economy of Kazakhstan totals $13.2 million.
