Great Britain interested in development of cooperation with enterprises of Pavlodar oblast - Ambassador

Pavlodar. March 31. Kazakhstan Today - Business circles of Great Britain are interested in development of cooperation with the enterprises of the Pavlodar oblast. The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Paul Brummell said today during the meeting with the chairman of the region Kayrat Nurpeisov during the first official visit to the Pavlodar oblast, the agency reports.

According to P. Brummell, at present more than 150 British companies work in Kazakhstan. Nearly 80 - 90 % is in the sphere of extraction and processing of hydrocarbonic raw material.

"Our goal as the embassy to help business circles and I have an idea to involve the British investors to the Pavlodar oblast," P. Brummell said.

The akim of the Pavlodar oblast K. Nurpeisov told the British Ambassador about the investment appeal of the region and the long-term plans within the limits of stable development of the oblast.

According to the Department of Industry and Commerce of the Pavlodar oblast, last year volume of foreign trade turnover of the region with Great Britain made $6.4 million. In comparison with the parameters of 2006, commodity turnover has grown by 1.8 times. Export totaled $1.7 million and import - $4.7 million.

During the official visit the British Ambassador plans to familiarize with the work of the large power objects of the region, including Pavlodar petrochemical factory, metallurgical plant Kasting and Ekibastuz state district power station-1.
