IAEA ready to accept Kazakhstan's offer on accommodation of bank of nuclear fuel

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is ready to accept the offer of Kazakhstan on accommodation of the bank of nuclear fuel in its territory. The Director of the IAEA's Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology (NEFW), Hans Forsstrom, informed today during the break of the international conference concerning restoration of the territories polluted by the radioactive materials, the agency reports.

Astana. May 18. Kazakhstan Today - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is ready to accept the offer of Kazakhstan on accommodation of the bank of nuclear fuel in its territory. The Director of the IAEA's Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology (NEFW), Hans Forsstrom, informed today during the break of the international conference concerning restoration of the territories polluted by the radioactive materials, the agency reports.

"IAEA considers the project of creation of the international bank of enriched nuclear material. We heard that Kazakhstan has been considering an opportunity of accommodation of this bank in its territory. As of today, Kazakhstan has not officially addressed IAEA yet. If Kazakhstan officially makes such an offer, we will accept it," H. Forsstrom said.
