Informal meeting of CIS leaders to be held in Almaty

An informal meeting of the leaders of the CIS member states will be held in Almaty this week, the agency reports citing the Ministry for Foreign Affairs press service.

Astana. December 15. Kazakhstan Today - An informal meeting of the leaders of the CIS member states will be held in Almaty this week, the agency reports citing the Ministry for Foreign Affairs press service.

According to the press service, "an informal meeting of the leaders of CIS states will be held on December 19-20 in Almaty to discuss important questions of regional cooperation, counteraction to the challenges and threats, and the course of economic cooperation, including the process of formation of the EurAsEC Customs Union."

"The meeting participants will hear the report on formation of uniform economic space of Belorussia, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation."

"The heads of states will exchange opinions on a wide range of questions connected with maintenance of economic, humanitarian and political safety in the region on the threshold of the 10-year-old anniversary of EurAsEC and the beginning of the presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in this organization and in OSCE in 2010."
