The Kazakhstan party at negotiations was headed by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kayrat Sarybay, and the Brazilian party - Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Roberto Zhaguaribe.

During consultations prospects of bilateral cooperation and execution of the arrangements reached during the state visit of the leader of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to Brazil in September of 2007 have been discussed.

During the visit to our country the Brazilian delegation held meetings in administration of the president, the Ministries of Transport and Communications, Agriculture and Environmental Protection.

Diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Brazil were established on September 22, 1993. The Embassy of Brazil was opened in 2006 in Astana. Commodity turnover between two countries for the first half of 2008 has reached $97 million, export - $9.3 million, import - $87.7 million. Last year volume of mutual trade made $142 million, export - $0.3 million, import - $141.714 million, the press service informs.
