Kazakh FM to visit Russia

Astana. March 13. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin will pay an official visit to the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan press secretary Ilyas Omarov informed at Monday briefing, the agency reports.

The visit is planned for March 19-20. "During the visit the parties will hold negotiations to discuss the questions of further mutually advantageous Kazakh-Russian cooperation, interactions within the limits of integration associations on CIS space, and urgent questions of international relations," I. Omarov noted.

The parties are expected to sign the plan of cooperation between foreign policy departments of two countries for 2007.

"The relations between Kazakhstan and Russia represent the most successful and effective model of bilateral cooperation on the post Soviet space," the press secretary emphasized. Kazakhstan and Russia possess an extensive legal base of close cooperation in all spheres - political, trade and economic, cultural-humanitarian, scientific and others. Today we can speak about the settled principles of our partnership penetrating all spectrum of the Kazakh-Russian relations," he added.

"The degree of political trust, the level of large-scale cooperation demonstrates firmness of the Kazakh-Russian alliance in strategic prospect," I. Omarov concluded.
