Kazakh Foreign Minister presented Kazakhstan's proposals on a new Strategy of EU for Central Asia

According to the Minister, Central Asia is one of the dynamically developing regions, taking a crucial strategic place and has a large human and high total economic potential, natural and industrial resources.
The city of Brussels held a regular ministerial meeting "European Union - Central Asia" with the participation of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The focus of the agenda was a new draft Strategy of the European Union for Central Asia.

Kazakhstan pays special attention to interregional interaction with the European Union, considering it as one of the instruments of sustainable development. In this connection, a new Strategy brings a unique possibility to reconsider the experience received so to focus on practical results of the new Strategy," said Kairat Abdrakhmanov.


In its vision for the new Strategy, the Kazakh sides emphasized the development of human capital by the means of education, the promotion of rule of law and qualitative state governance, the development of private entrepreneurship, small- and medium-sized enterprises, and women's entrepreneurship.

According to the Kazakh delegation, the growing involvement of Central Asia in global economic processes requires close cooperation between the two regions to implement new technological changes, and digitalization elements, to join the transport and logistics infrastructures of the sides, to exchange experiences in energy efficiency improvement, and to introduce 'green technologies'.

Environmental protection and rational use of water resources are crucial, as well as joint efforts to recover and stabilize Afghanistan. According to the Kazakh side, these measures should be taken into account in the document.
