Kazakhstan and United Arab Emirates to sign Convention on Avoidance of Double Taxation
Astana. July 16. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates plan to sign the Convention on Avoidance of Double Taxation. The decision was accepted during the meeting of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Caliph bin Zayed Al Nahayan, on Tuesday, the president's press service informed the agency.
"The main attention in negotiations was paid to the questions of investment cooperation. The Convention on Avoidance of Double Taxation will be created in the near future to create favorable conditions for investors from the United Arab Emirates, to create mechanisms of reliable protection of their investments, and to start the work over draft agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments," the press release states.
The parties noted dynamical development of cooperation in transport sphere. "The project of development of Aktau is the evidence of this. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan and Dubai World Ltd. Company is working over the project of transfer of the existing dry-cargo berths of Aktau port and transfer to concession of the container terminal within the limits of expansion of port Aktau in the northern direction.
