Kazakhstan became a full member of the European Organization of Tax Administrations

Kazakhstan became the only Asian country that was accepted in the European Organization of Tax Administrations.

Oslo. July 10. Kazakhstan Today - On July 6 in Oslo, at the annual session of the General Assembly of the European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA), Kazakhstan was elected a full member of the organization, Kazakhstan Today reports.

Kazakhstan became the only Asian country that was accepted in the European Organization of Tax Administrations. To do this, existing members of the organization - the European countries - voted for the amendments to the founding document - the Charter of IOTA. For Kazakhstan, an exception was made because of the high level and success in reforming the tax administration, the press service of the MFA informed.

According to the press service, the Kazakh delegation to the General Assembly of the European Organization of Tax Administrations was headed by the chairman of the Tax Committee of the Ministry of Finance Anuar Zhumadildaev.

"In his address to participants of the session, he said that our country intends to participate actively in the activities of the European organization whose membership makes it possible to get good European experience and have access to information necessary for the further reform and the introduction of the latest developments in tax administration", the press service informed.

European Organization of Tax Administrations was founded in 1996. And it is a relatively young international organization. Over the years, IOTA became an important mechanism of interaction of the tax authorities of member countries in combating tax evasion, increase transparency and efficiency of tax administration. IOTA Secretariat is located in Budapest, Hungary. Members of the organization are the 45 European countries including Kazakhstan.
