Kazakhstan, China to become strategic partners in development of wind and solar energy

Almaty. October 14. Kazakhstan Today - JSC National Welfare Samruk-Kazyna Fund and the Chinese Guandun Nuclear Power Company (CGNPC) signed cooperation agreement in Beijing during the summit of prime ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the agency reports citing official mass media.

The parties expressed intention to become strategic partners in the sphere of manufacture of pure and alternative energy and to begin sharing and development of wind, solar and hydro resources of Kazakhstan.

JSC National Welfare Samruk-Kazyna Fund and the Chinese Guandun Nuclear Power Company (CGNPC) will consider a possibility of creation of joint ventures for realization of the projects of development of wind and solar energy in Kazakhstan and construction of hydroelectric power stations.

As informed earlier, Kazakhstan and China plan to create joint investment fund with the capital of $1 billion.
