Kazakhstan, Finland ratified agreement on double taxation avoidance

Kazakhstan and Finland ratified the agreement on double taxation avoidance, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. May 31. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan and Finland ratified the agreement on double taxation avoidance, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, the head of state signed the law on ratification of the agreement between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the Finnish Republic on double taxation avoidance and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.

The agreement and the protocol were signed on March 24, 2009 in Helsinki. The purpose of the agreement is strengthening and expansion of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Finland by creation of favorable investment conditions. The agreement shall apply to the residents of one or both contracting states.

The agreement shall apply to income taxes collected on behalf of the contracting state or its local authorities.
