Kazakhstan government, UNDP to conclude memorandum of cooperation

The government of Kazakhstan and UNDP consider it necessary to conclude the memorandum of cooperation, the Kazakhstan PM press service informed on Tuesday.

Astana. September 19. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan and UNDP consider it necessary to conclude the memorandum of cooperation, the Kazakhstan PM press service informed on Tuesday.

According to the press service, the meeting of the Prime Minister Karim Masimov with the UN resident-coordinator, permanent UNDP representative in Kazakhstan Shu Haoliang took place in Astana on Tuesday.

"The interlocutors came to the common opinion on the necessity of signing the Memorandum of cooperation between the government of Kazakhstan and the UN organizations in Kazakhstan," the press service widespread on Tuesday states.

During the talks the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted that in the view of realization of the national priorities designated in the intermediate term strategy of development of Kazakhstan till 2010 and long-term strategy of development of Kazakhstan-2030, it is necessary to create qualitatively new ralations between Kazakhstan and the United Nations.

In his turn, permanent UNDP representative in Kazakhstan expressed consent that "new knowledge, new expertise and competitive advantages promoting process of further development of Kazakhstan are required nowadays."

Karim Masimov and Shu Haoliang discussed immediate prospects of cooperation within the limits of the Program of social development, strengthening of the government system and further democratization of the country, the government press service informed.
