Kazakhstan is important partner in the region - Vice Prime Minister of Poland

Kazakhstan is an important partner in the Central Asian region and in the post Soviet space. Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Economics of Poland Valdemar Pavlak said during the meeting with the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Poland Alexey Volkov on Monday, the press service of Kazakhstan embassy in Poland informed the agency.

Warsaw. May 14. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan is an important partner in the Central Asian region and in the post Soviet space. Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Economics of Poland Valdemar Pavlak said during the meeting with the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Poland Alexey Volkov on Monday, the press service of Kazakhstan embassy in Poland informed the agency.

According to the press service, the parties noted dynamical development of bilateral economic relations. Statistical data demonstrates that Kazakhstan-Polish commodity turnover in 2007 exceeded 884 million dollars that is by 38 % more in comparison with the previous period.

The meeting participants expressed common opinion on necessity of use of available potential in the sphere of trade, economic and investment cooperation between two countries. In this connection, alongside with traditional mutual trade from Poland to Kazakhstan (furniture, cosmetics, machines, equipment, pharmaceuticals), from Kazakhstan to Poland (nonferrous metals, chemical goods, mineral raw materials, mineral oil and gas) perspective directions are construction, joint co-production of construction materials, transport, agriculture and processing of agricultural products, petrochemical complex, pharmaceuticals and tourism.

"Kazakhstan is considered by Warsaw as one of the most important partners in the Central Asian region and in the post Soviet space," V. Pavlak noted.

Strengthening of bilateral political, economic and cultural-humanitarian communications could facilitate opening of new business directions in Kazakhstan by Polish businessmen with participation of Polish diaspora living in Kazakhstan.

According to the press service, the Kazakhstan diplomat presented the Polish party a package of proposals of social-enterprise corporation Sary-Arka covering a wide spectrum of possibilities of establishment of cooperation in agriculture, manufacture of construction materials, tourism and information technologies.

During the meeting the parties reached the arrangement on participation of the Polish parry in the second international investment forum Karaganda-Invest-2008, which will take place on May 30-31 in Karaganda.
