Kazakhstan joined initiative of Global Nuclear Energy Partnership

Kazakhstan has joined the initiative of Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP), the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Astana. September 17. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan has joined the initiative of Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP), the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

As it was informed by the press service, Kazakhstan signed the Protocol of the principles of Global Nuclear Energy Partnership and became full participant of this process on September 16, in Vienna. The joining took place at the ministerial meeting under the presidency of the Minister of Energy of the USA Samuel Bodman.

The initiative of Global partnership in atomic engineering was proposed in January, 2006 by the President of the United States George Bush. The partnership is directed at development of the international consensus at an expected increase of use of pure, safe and available nuclear energy in connection with growth of world energy consumption.

According to the information of the foreign policy department, as of today, sixteen states, including China, Russia, the USA, France, Japan, distinguished by their achievements and possess high technologies in the sphere of atomic engineering, joined the partnership.
