Kazakhstan, Lithuania to concentrate on problems of Central, Caspian and Black Sea regions
Astana. May 14. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan and Lithuania within the limits of presidency in OSCE plan to concentrate on problems of Central Asian, the Caspian and Black Sea regions. The Prime Minister of Lithuania Gediminas Kirkilas informed on Tuesday at the briefing after the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the agency reports.
"We will be in three of OSCE and will preside in this organization - Kazakhstan in 2010, Lithuania - in 2011. We will concentrate, probably, on problems of Central Asia, the Caspian and Black Sea regions," the Prime Minister of Lithuania emphasized.
Kirkilas said that Lithuania and Kazakhstan are very friendly countries." "We have no political disputes. We closely cooperate within various international organizations, the United Nations and regional institutes," he noted.
The Prime Minister of Lithuania noted the necessity to deepen trade and economic cooperation. "We ascertained that volume of commerce in recent years is growing, but $300-400 million is not a limit," he emphasized. "We see great prospects in expansion of mutual commodity turnover and development of mutual commerce in various spheres.
According to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Lithuania for 2007 made $118 million. In 2006 the parameter made $73 million. 22 enterprises work in Kazakhstan with participation of the Lithuanian capital.
