Kazakhstan Majilis representative made report at UNICEF session in New York

The session of Executive Council of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) took place in the UN headquarters in New York. Yesterday its participants held the special session devoted to information and propaganda maintenance of policy in the interests of children. The chairman of Committee for Finance and Budget of Majilis of Kazakhstan, Guljana Karagusova, shared her experience of Kazakhstan in drawing up the budget taking into account the interests of children, the agency reports referring to the UN news center.

Almaty. September 18. Kazakhstan Today - The session of Executive Council of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) took place in the UN headquarters in New York. Yesterday its participants held the special session devoted to information and propaganda maintenance of policy in the interests of children. The chairman of Committee for Finance and Budget of Majilis of Kazakhstan, Guljana Karagusova, shared her experience of Kazakhstan in drawing up the budget taking into account the interests of children, the agency reports referring to the UN news center.

The chairman of Committee for Finance and Budget of Majilis noted that Kazakhstan has achieved internal stability and has provided reliability of social protection of the population. She emphasized that Kazakhstan needs to invest in human capital to achieve higher parameters and to become one of 50 most competitive countries of the world.

The chairman of Committee for Finance and Budget of Majilis said that annual state expenditure on social sphere makes about 33 - 35 % of general expenses of the budget in Kazakhstan. Thus, special attention is paid to financing of the programs concerning the interests of children.

Such a policy has already brought its results. According to the representative of Kazakhstan, birth rate in the country has increased, infant and maternal mortality rate has been decreasing, children's health has improved, and quality of their education has been improved especially in rural areas of the country.
