Kazakhstan MFA and South Korea held 6th round of consultations

Foreign policy departments of Kazakhstan and South Korea held the 6th round of consultations at the level of Vice Ministers for Foreign Affairs on Saturday, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Astana. September 15. Kazakhstan Today - Foreign policy departments of Kazakhstan and South Korea held the 6th round of consultations at the level of Vice Ministers for Foreign Affairs on Saturday, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakhstan delegation was headed by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nurlan Ermekbayev, and Korean delegation - Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Li En Jun.

During the negotiations the parties discussed current condition of mutual relations and exchanged opinions on urgent issues of the Kazakhstan-Korean interaction in bilateral and multilateral formats.

"Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea render mutual support to the international initiatives of both countries. The countries cooperate within the limits of international organizations and multilateral forums, including CICMA, Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Dialogue of Cooperation in Asia and others," the press release informs.

South Korea is the large investor and trading partner of Kazakhstan. Trade and economic cooperation between Astana and Seoul has been considerably intensified. In 2007 bilateral commodity turnover made $843 million that has exceeded the previous parameters. Volumes of mutual investments increase from year to year. Cooperation in such spheres as energy, construction, finance, trade and banking has been developing.
