Kazakhstan PM and USA Secretary of State discussed further development of economic cooperation

Astana. October 7. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, met the USA Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice on Sunday, October, 5, the agency reports referring to the prime minister's press service.

According to the press service, the interlocutors discussed the questions of further development of economic cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States of America.

K. Masimov noted that Kazakhstan will continue to adhere to the main principles of market economy: high-grade, constructive partner cooperation, respect of the rights of foreign investors - guarantee of stability of the concluded contracts.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the principle of inviolability of conditions of contracts should be observed both by the government and investors.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan confirmed that Kazakhstan still remains the supporter of multivector policy of transportation of energy resources, including through Azerbaijan and Georgia.

During the meeting the question of attraction of the Kazakhstan investments into economy of Afghanistan was discussed as well.

C. Rice noted that the USA positively estimates and supports the work of Kazakhstan as the leader of the Central-Asian region.

The US Secretary of State noted that Afghanistan is in need of a system, strategically important investments and Kazakhstan could help Afghanistan very much.

C. Rice also expressed profound gratitude to the Kazakhstan peacekeeping forces for cooperation and mine clearing efforts on the territory of Iraq.
