Kazakhstan ratified convention on frontier cooperation of CIS states

Kazakhstan ratified the frontier cooperation convention of the CIS states, the agency reports citing the president's press service. According to the press service, the head of state signed the law on ratification of the frontier cooperation convention of the CIS member states.

Astana. February 17. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan ratified the frontier cooperation convention of the CIS states, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, the head of state signed the law on ratification of the frontier cooperation convention of the CIS member states.

The text of the law has been published in press.

As informed earlier, the frontier cooperation convention of the CIS states was signed on October 10, 2008 in Bishkek.

According to the convention's article 2, frontier cooperation is based on the following principles: mutual respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of frontiers, mutual respect of the national legislation, no harm to health of citizens and environment, no damage to economic or other interests, mutual benefit, peaceful resolution of frontier disputes, non-interference into internal affairs of other CIS member states - not participants of the convention, respect of the rights and freedom of the citizens of the CIS states, and coordination of the actions of the participants of the frontier cooperation.

The committee noted that frontier cooperation is based on the agreements between the competent bodies signed within the scope of their powers with observance of the legislation of the state-participants and the norms of the international law.
