Kazakhstan, Russia exchanged railway sites

Kazakhstan and Russia have exchanged railway sites, the agency reports citing the message of the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan.

Astana. May 25. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan and Russia have exchanged railway sites, the agency reports citing the message of the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service, during the working visit of the Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to Kazakhstan, the Ministers of Transport of two states signed the Protocol on introduction of amendments to the Agreement between the government of Kazakhstan and the government of the Russian Federation on peculiarities of legal regulation of activity of the enterprises, establishments and organizations of railway transportation of October, 18th, 1996.

"Coming into force of this document will allow transferring and receiving railway sites. That is, if earlier there were railway sites in the territory of both states, belonging to the neighboring country, and the trains traveling between the neighboring had to cross those borders, now this problem has been solved," the press service informed.

According to Transport Ministry, Kazakhstan will receive the sites with extent of 575 kilometers and Russia will receive -566.4 kilometers.
