Kazakhstan, Russia to launch Customs Union on bilateral basis

Russia and Kazakhstan will launch the Customs Union on a bilateral basis on July 1. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, informed after the session of the supreme body of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on Friday, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

Almaty. May 31.Kazakhstan Today - Russia and Kazakhstan will launch the Customs Union on a bilateral basis on July 1. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, informed after the session of the supreme body of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on Friday, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

The Prime Ministers of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan took part in the work of the session. The Belarus Prime Minister, Sergey Sidorsky, did not participate in the session.

Russia and Kazakhstan signed the contract defining the order of application on a bilateral basis of the contract-legal basis of the second stage of formation of the Customs Union that is creation of the uniform customs territory.

"I hope Belarus will join the coordinated documents. If it does not, Russia and Kazakhstan will operate on a bilateral basis," V. Putin said. "Russia and Kazakhstan support joining of Belarus of all agreements and decisions within the limits of the second stage of formation of the Customs Union," the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation noted.

"We take into consideration the remaining disagreements with Belarus in regards to the order of payment of export customs duties, including on crude oil and mineral oil, and unreadiness of Belarus to realize the earlier signed agreements," the Russian Prime Minister noted.

"There is one disagreement not connected with the Customs Union, but with Belarus: export duties on oil and mineral oil."
