Kazakhstan State Secretary, Norway Ambassador discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation

The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev met the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Kazakhstan Mette Kongshem, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

At the meeting the parties discussed the specific measures on cooperation expansion calling to promote closer coordination of positions of two countries on the pressing international issues and significant expansion of bilateral trade.

According to the press service, K. Saudabayev stated that Kazakhstan and Norway "bring together common approaches to the main international problems, especially, maintenance of global safety." One more sphere for active cooperation and exchange of experience is "development of rich stocks of energy resources and reasonable use of oil and gas profits."

The Norwegian diplomat noted that "Norway notes progress reached by Kazakhstan during the years of independence. Formulation by the President of Kazakhstan the plans of development of the program Way to Europe is the initiative testifying aspiration to cooperation with the western countries, introduction of modern management standards, and further reforming." "Norway is interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan in development of this program and as the country that has already been the chairman of OSCE, is ready to share the experience," Mette Kongshem said at the briefing.
