Kazakhstan to cooperate with Latvia within Way to Europe program
Astana. October 6. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan plans to cooperate with Latvia within realization of the program Way to Europe. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said at the press conference, following the results of negotiations with the leader of the Latvian Republic, Valdis Zatlers on Friday, the agency reports.
"We plan to actively cooperate with Latvia within realization of the program Way to Europe aiming at raising the relations of our country with the European Union (EU) to a new level of strategic partnership," N. Nazarbayev said. He noted that Kazakhstan considers Latvia an important partner in EU and hopes for active role of Latvia in realization of the new strategy of the European Union concerning Central Asia.
The leader of the state has noted that our country attaches great value to cooperation with Latvia in the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) within the forthcoming chairmanship of Kazakhstan in this organization.
"The results of the negotiations have shown aspiration of two countries to expand and strengthen political, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian relations," Kazakhstan President said.
