Kazakhstan to study creation of Caspian Economic Cooperation

Astana. December 23. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan is ready to start studying the question of creation of the Caspian Economic Cooperation. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, informed at the 24th session of the special working group on development of the convention on legal status of the Caspian Sea at the level of Vice Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Caspian littoral states, the agency reports.

As informed earlier, the intergovernmental economic conference took place in Astrakhan on October, 3rd, 2008. According to Regnum, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, Elvira Habiulinna, said at the conference that the question of formation of the system of financing of joint economic projects will be discussed during the event.

"E. Nabiullinna considered it necessary to discuss at the conference creation of the Organization of the Caspian Economic Cooperation. In the opinion of Vice Premier of the Russian Federation, Victor Zubkov, such organization can be created by an example of the countries of the Baltic pool and Black Sea countries. The cooperation issues in the field of transport, energy, investments, ecology, finance and use of bioresources will be the areas of responsibility of the organization," Regnum informs.
