Kyrgyzstan to host meeting of Emergency Ministers of SCO member states

The third meeting of the Emergency ministries and departments, responsible for prevention and liquidation of consequences of extreme situations of the SCO member states, will take place on September 17-21, 2007 in Bishkek, the Kazakhstan Emergency Ministry press service informed the agency.

Kazakhstan Today - The third meeting of the Emergency ministries and departments, responsible for prevention and liquidation of consequences of extreme situations of the SCO member states, will take place on September 17-21, 2007 in Bishkek, the Kazakhstan Emergency Ministry press service informed the agency.

According to the press service, the ministers responsible for prevention and liquidation of consequences of extreme situations from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and the countries-observers are expected to participate in the meeting. Valery Petrov, vice Premier for Emergencies, will represent Kazakhstan.

The parties plan to discuss the question of creation of the SCO center for prevention and liquidations of extreme situations. The participants of the meeting plan to prepare the draft agreement on ratification of model forms of the basic documents on rendering assistance during extreme situations.

During the session the ministers will hold bilateral negotiations. The Emergency Minister of Kyrgyzstan Republic Turatbek Djunushaliyev will meet his counterparts from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
