Lithuania is interested in expansion of energy cooperation with Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister of Lithuania Gediminas Kirkilas informed at the briefing after the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on Tuesday, the agency reports

Astana. May 16. Kazakhstan Today - Lithuania is interested in expansion of energy cooperation with Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister of Lithuania Gediminas Kirkilas informed at the briefing after the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on Tuesday, the agency reports.

"We touched upon very important questions regarding energy issues. It is very important for Lithuania," the Prime Minister said. "Lithuania requires alternative

deliveries of gas, and, probably, oil," he emphasized.

The Prime Minister of Lithuania explained that it is connected with intentions of Lithuania to close Ignalin nuclear station.

During the negotiations the parties discussed construction of terminal of liquefied gas in Klaipeda and participation of the Kazakhstan party in this project. "I think Kazakhstan that has started producing liquefied gas will participate in construction of the terminal or in supply of liquefied gas," he informed.

The Prime Minister of Lithuania invited Kazakhstan to participate in construction of the logistics centers in Lithuania. "We recently have made a decision to build three logistics centers in our country and we invite to participate Kazakhstan in these projects," he said.
