Medvedev signed law on agreement between Russian Federation and Kazakhstan

The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, signed the law on the agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan about boundary cooperation, the agency reports citing RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

Almaty. November 8. Kazakhstan Today - The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, signed the law on the agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan about boundary cooperation, the agency reports citing RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

According to RBC, D. Medvedev signed the federal law on ratification of the agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan government on cooperation in the field of realization of joint control of the Russian-Kazakhstan frontier." The document was ratified by the State Duma of the Russian Federation on October 22, 2010 and approved by the Federation Council on October 27, 2010.

The agreement was signed on September 11, 2009 in Orenburg and is aimed at simplification of procedure and the decrease of duration of control at checkpoints through the Russian-Kazakhstan border.
