Memorandum on granting to Belarus status of SCO dialogue signed

The memorandum on granting to Belorussia of the status of the SCO dialogue partner was signed today in Minsk, the agency reports citing the news agency BELTA.

Almaty. April 28. Kazakhstan Today - The memorandum on granting to Belorussia of the status of the SCO dialogue partner was signed today in Minsk, the agency reports citing the news agency BELTA.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergey Martynov, and the SCO Secretary General, Muratbek Imanaliev signed the memorandum.

S. Martynov underlined that Belarus is interested in the work of this important organisation. The Minister expressed gratitude to the SCO management for preparation of the document. It defines cooperation directions of Belarus with this international organisation: economic, transport-logistical, banking and financial directions, and struggle against terrorism, and narco threat.

"Belarus will introduce an important cooperation component in the SCO." The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the SCO countries cooperate in such international organizations, as CSTO, EurAsEC, and the CIS. As for China, this state and Belarus are developing strategic cooperation.

The SCO Secretary General underlined that the partnership of Belarus will allow strengthening the organisation in the directions defined in the memorandum.
