"The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Danial Ahmetov, met a newly appointed British embassy's military attache, Lieutenant Colonel Fitts Fittsgibbon on September 18, 2008. During the meeting they discussed the course of Exercise Steppe Eagle - 2008 taking place on the range Iliy near Almaty, the press service informed.

According to the source, during the meeting the interlocutors discussed the condition and prospects of cooperation between Defense Departments of the countries. The Armed Forces of Kazakhstan and Great Britain have cooperated on a number of military programs.

"One of the vivid examples of cooperation is joint military Exercises Steppe Eagle has been conducted in Kazakhstan annually since 2003," the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan emphasized.
