More than 20 documents at CIS summit signed in Kishinev
Almaty. October 12. Kazakhstan Today - More than 20 documents were signed at the CIS summit in Kishinev, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.
Development of joint efforts to counteract the economic crisis was the main theme of the summit. Vice Premier, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, Alexey Kudrin, as a chairman of the permanently operating meeting of CIS Ministers of Finance made a report on this issue.
According to ITAR-TASS, the summit participants accepted the decision on passing on the president's functions in the CIS from Moldova to Russia on January 1, 2010. The concept of the Russian presidency and the plan of measures for its realization were officially presented at the summit. "These documents are aimed at further expansion of multilateral cooperation in the CIS format, increase of efficiency of the decisions accepted in the economic, migration, energy, transport, humanitarian, inter-regional and frontier cooperation, and in counteraction to modern challenges and threats, environmental protection and prevention of emergencies of natural and technogenic character."
