Almaty. June 2. Kazakhstan Today - Multilateral military cooperation - one of the key bases for further improvement of the CIS. The chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary, Sergey Lebedev, stated, the agency reports citing the press service of CIS Executive Committee.
According to S. Lebedev, the next session of Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS states will take place on June 3rd in Moscow. "It has been already the 56th session of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS countries. Multilateral military cooperation is one of the key dynamically developing bases for strengthening of security, counteraction to new challenges and threats, and, as a whole, further improvement of the CIS," S. Lebedev said.
The session participants will consider more than 20 questions in various directions of cooperation of military structures of the Commonwealth states.
"First of all, Ministers of Defense will define conceptual approaches to development of military cooperation of the CIS countries for the period till 2015 and will approve the plan of joint actions of the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth states for 2010."
Defense Ministers will analyze the situation regarding safety of flights in the Armed Forces and will make a decision on creation of a package of programs providing functioning of the unified information-analytical system of safety of flights and reliability of military aviation technology of the CIS countries.
