NATO special representative to visit Astana

Astana. February 5. Kazakhstan Today - The NATO Secretary General special representative for Central Asia and Caucasus Robert Simmons will pay official visit to Astana on February 6-7. The Kazakh MFA official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed today at the traditional briefing in Astana.

According to the diplomat, during R. Simmons's visit bilateral negotiations with the leaders of the ministries and departments of Kazakhstan, including Security Council, the Ministry of Emergency, Defense Ministry, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take place. "The goal of the meetings is the discussion of current questions of development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and NATO," he said.

The visit schedule includes R. Simmons's meetings in the Senate and Majilis Parliament, the visit of the Gumilev's Eurasian National University and the meeting with its faculty and students.
