Near-Caspian countries signed safety cooperation agreement

The safety cooperation agreement in the Caspian Sea was signed following the results of Third Summit of the Heads of the Near-Caspian Countries: Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan, the state agency AzerTadzh informs.

Almaty. November 19. Kazakhstan Today - The safety cooperation agreement in the Caspian Sea was signed following the results of Third Summit of the Heads of the Near-Caspian Countries: Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan, the state agency AzerTadzh informs.

The Presidents of the near-Caspian countries signed the joint statement. After signing the documents, the Presidents made statements.

The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said the signed documents have precisely defined cooperation frameworks. The head of Azerbaijan underlined that these documents are an important step towards coordination of the questions which are now at a preparatory stage.

I. Aliev also informed on the decisions accepted during discussions. He informed that the corresponding structures have been assigned to prepare in three-monthly term the mechanism of moratorium on sturgeon catch for the five year-period.

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said that during discussions there was a progress on one of the main questions - defining of the legal status of the Caspian Sea.
