New Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan appointed

Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan on August 31, 2012 by its decree appointed Alisher Salakhiddinov as an Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan.

According to 12news.uz, Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan on August 31, 2012 by its decree appointed Alisher Salakhiddinov as an Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan.

A. Salahiddinov previously served as Uzbek Ambassador to China, the report says.

The previous Uzbek Ambassador to Kazakhstan Farrukh Tursunov was transferred to the position of the Ambassador to Japan in December last year, 12news.uz reports.

It should be noted that this appointment was made on the eve of the official visit of President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, which will be held on September 6-7 this year, the report says.

According to 12news.uz, Kazakhstan takes the third place in the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan. In the first half of 2012 the volume of Uzbek-Kazakh trade turnover exceeded $ 1 billion 360 million over the past three years, bilateral trade has more than doubled and in 2011 exceeded $ 2.7 billion.

The legal framework of cooperation between the two countries is 116 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents, which cover almost all spheres of life. Only in trade and economic cooperation signed 68 documents, including free trade agreements, the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation and others.
