New structure of international safety to have Eurasian character

The new structure of the international security should not have Euroatlantic, but the Eurasian character. The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha, said in the interview to RIA Novosti, the agency reports.

The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha, said in the interview to RIA Novosti, the agency reports.

N. Bordyuzha took part in the international conference in London devoted to discussion of the draft agreement initiated by Russia on the European security.

"Those states, which are today in the sphere of OSCE attention - the Central Asian states, in my opinion, should be participants of this contract. I do not think that there should be China and I do not think that there should be Afghanistan and other far away states, but the Central Asian states," N. Bordyuzha said.

The CSTO Secretary General is certain that the new contract should unite all basic international organizations involved in security issues on the EurAtlantic space - the CIS, the NATO, EU, OSCE and CSTO.

According to RIA Novosti, the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, in the summer of 2008 initiated to create a mechanism of maintenance of peace in Europe that any state or an international organization has no monopoly for. The draft agreement on the European security was published on an official site of the President of the Russian Federation on November 29 and has been submitted to the European colleagues for their consideration.

CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
