"We have agreed to meet once a year," D. Medvedev said.

The President of Russia noted progress in the issue of defining of the Caspian Sea status and considers that this document can be signed in a year at the summit in Russia.

D. Medvedev informed that the next summit of the heads of five near-Caspian states will be held in Russia.

According to the president's press service, during the Summit of the Heads of the Near-Caspian States, the President of Kazakhstan, N. Nazarbayev met the President of the Russian Federation, D. Medvedev. During the meeting, the officials discussed prospects of further development of bilateral economic cooperation.

The officials exchanged opinions on the most important questions of international and regional safety.
