Preparation for 6th ministerial conference of CAREC program began in Dushanbe

The questions of preparation for the 6th ministerial conference of the program of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) were discussed during the meeting of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon with CAREC special adviser Johannes Lynn last week, the agency reports.

Dushanbe. October 2. Kazakhstan Today - The questions of preparation for the 6th ministerial conference of the program of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) were discussed during the meeting of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon with CAREC special adviser Johannes Lynn last week, the agency reports.

According to J. Linn, after the meeting with the President of Tajikistan, at the conference, a number of important issues will be discussed. " First of all, the ministers will discuss and, we hope, that will approve, the strategy for assistance to development of transport and trade," J. Linn said, having explained that "this strategy includes creation of six transport corridors, which will give Central Asian countries an access to Europe, China and Southern Asia."

According to the adviser, the question on creation of CAREC Institute, within the limits of which assistance to the regional Central Asian initiatives will be rendered, will be discussed at the conference in November.

J. Linn informed that during the conference strategy in the field of energy will be discussed.

The Ministerial conference of CAREC program will take place on November 3 in Dushanbe.
