President of Mongolia to visit Kazakhstan in August

Almaty. July 26. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Mongolia Nambaryn Enkhbayar will pay official visit to Kazakhstan on August 13-15, 2007, Kazakhstan investment center Kazinvest press service informed the agency.

According to the press service, during Nambaryn Enkhbayar's visit it is planned to hold business-forum for business circles of two countries in Astana. During the meeting the parties intend to discuss the questions of cooperation in the field of agriculture, mining, constructions and building materials. Mongolian business delegation includes the representatives from more than 20 large companies that will acquaint Kazakhstan businessmen with their investment projects.

According to Kazinvest, volume of trade between two countries in 2006 made $67.4 million, including export - $66.3 million and import - $1 million (in comparison with 2005 commodity turnover increased by 1.2 times). For the first quarter of 2007 the parameter reached $7.76 million, export to Kazakhstan reached $352.6 thousand, import - $7.41 million (in relation to the similar period of 2006 commodity turnover increased by 3.6 times).

The main articles of export of Kazakhstan to Mongolia are grain, mineral oil, tobacco and pipes. Mongolia imports meat, wool, and fluorite spar.

Diplomatic relations between Republic Kazakhstan and Mongolia were established on January 22, 1992.
