Presidents of CSTO states expected to arrive in Almaty

The Presidents of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev, Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Leonid Maltsev, are expected to arrive in Almaty to participate in CRRF CSTO exercises, the chairman of the press service of Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ilyas Omarov, informed the agency.

Almaty. October 15. Kazakhstan Today - The Presidents of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev, Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Leonid Maltsev, are expected to arrive in Almaty to participate in CRRF CSTO exercises, the chairman of the press service of Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ilyas Omarov, informed the agency.

According to I. Omarov, the presidents of four states and the Minister of Defense of Belarus will arrive in Almaty tonight.

According to the press service of the president of Kazakhstan, the leaders of CSTO states will take part in the exercises. Other events, such as summits or negotiations are not planned.

As informed earlier, the leaders of CSTO member states have been invited to Kazakhstan for the closing stage of Interaction-2009 exercises.
