Presidents of Kazakhstan, Turkey discussed agenda of 10th summit of Leaders of Turkic Speaking States

The meeting of the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the Turkish Republic, Abdulla Gul, took place in Istanbul, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. September 16. Kazakhstan Today - The meeting of the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the Turkish Republic, Abdulla Gul, took place in Istanbul, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

N. Nazarbayev, during the 10th summit of Leaders of Turkic Speaking States, met the President of the Turkish Republic, A. Gul.

During the meeting, the leaders of two states discussed the agenda of the forthcoming summit and the questions of multilateral cooperation.

As informed earlier, the 10th anniversary Summit of Leaders of Turkic Speaking States would take place on September 15 -16 in Istanbul with participation of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"The leaders of the Turkic Speaking world will discuss a wide spectrum of questions, including the relations between the countries, the regional and international problems representing common interest, and establishment of Secretariat of the Turkic Council and its management. The officials are expected to exchange opinions concerning the work of the Turkic World Academy opened at the initiative of N. Nazarbayev in May, 2010 in Astana during an official visit of the President of Turkey, Abdulla Gul," Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

"Creation of an advisory body will be included in the agenda of the summit - Senior Officials Council, which will function under the aegis of the Turkic Council. The Senior Officials Council structure will include the most respectable representatives of each of the member countries," Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informed.

The agreement on creation of a new international structure - the Turkic Speaking Countries Cooperation Council, was signed in October, 2009 in Nakhichevan at the initiative of N. Nazarbayev.
