Prevention and liquidation of emergency situations to be strengthened - Bordyuzha

The work for prevention and liquidation of emergency situations within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should be strengthened.

Moscow. March 18. Kazakhstan Today - The work for prevention and liquidation of emergency situations within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should be strengthened. The CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha said on Monday at the first session of the Coordination Council for Extreme Situations that will take place on March 18 in Moscow, the agency reports referring to CSTO Secretariat press service.

"A series of extreme situations that occurred recently in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Russia, confirms the necessity of activization of the work for joint prevention and liquidation of the consequences of emergency situations of nature and technogenic character in CSTO format. We should create collective potential that will allow solving the problems with the least losses similar to the event in Tajikistan," N. Bordyuzha said.

"Coordination of efforts should be organized in many directions: technical equipment of the rescue service divisions, joint development of new means of rescue, professional training, development of the interstate legal acts allowing rendering assistance by operative dislocation of the rescue divisions through the borders, cargoes, and many other," he specified.

According to the press service, the chairmen of the corresponding departments of CSTO member states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will take part in the event.
